Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism, sometimes collad just underactive thyroid, low thyroid or hypothyreosis, is a common endocrine disorder in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. It may cause a number of symptoms like tiredness, poor cold tolerance and weight gain. Worldwide, the most common cause of hypothyroidism is too little iodine in the food. In countries with enough iodine from dietary, the cause of hypothyroidism is an autoimmune condition, called Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
